Works on the new road and carpark, and construction of the new building are progressing well.
The existing toilet block is now due for demolition with new facilities incorporated in the new building. Council will provide some temporary toilets on the foreshore in the interim period until the new facility is open.
Works are currently on schedule for a September 2023 completion.

The brick base has been ordered and drainage pits and pipes are on site ready for installation before the kerb and channel is installed.

Throughout this time Council will work hard to provide minimal interruptions to the use of this area, however please note the following:
The existing roadway will close to traffic from 19 September 2022, however pedestrian access will remain until late January 2023
Works include realignment of the existing roadway from the foreshore, including new formalised parking and improvements where they connect to the School Road intersection
The existing toilet block will remain open until its demolition in late January 2023
Foreshore access will be restricted from late January 2023 where erosion mitigation works are planned, including beach nourishment south of the existing toilet block
