Construction begins 19 September 2022

The project is now due to begin construction on 19 September 2022 and to be completed by mid 2023. Throughout this time Council will work hard to provide minimal interruptions to the use of this area, however please note the following:

  • The existing roadway will close to traffic from 19 September 2022, however pedestrian access will remain until late January 2023

  • Works include realignment of the existing roadway from the foreshore, including new formalised parking and improvements where they connect to the School Road intersection

  • The existing toilet block will remain open until its demolition in late January 2023

  • Foreshore access will be restricted from late January 2023 where erosion mitigation works are planned, including beach nourishment south of the existing toilet block
