Project Description

The Marlo Foreshore Management Plan provides clear and agreed directions for management of the foreshore areas adjoining the Marlo township. The overarching management objective is to recognise the potential for recreational pursuits and tourism opportunities within the area whilst maintaining important environmental values.

Project Scope

There are two options available for consideration by the Marlo Resident and Ratepayers Association. Further scope options outside of these may be considered.

The works will include:

- Renewal of the existing fencing along Beach Rd and the foreshore walking track to Sampsons Track

- Renewal of beach access ramps and picnic tables

- Develop a feasibility assessment regarding foreshore erosion

- Improve gully drainage and renew toilet block

- Improvements to viewing sites along Marine Parade

A consultant has been engaged to undertake the toilet block redevelopment works. Soil tests and a survey have also been completed.

A consultant has also been appointed to undertake concept plans for foreshore trail remediation works.

In addition to the Marlo Foreshore Management Plan, Council wishes to establish a sustainable stormwater strategy for the township of Marlo to address existing flooding issues brought to its attention through community feedback. To read more visit: Marlo Town Drainage
