UPDATE July 2024

It has been a while since we have provided an update on this project, but things have been happening behind the scenes!

Following the co-design workshop in April, a draft Engagement Report has been prepared to document the engagement process and input received so far; it will be made available soon. The project team is working to identify any gaps, undertake further analysis and commence preparation of the draft Bairnsdale 2050 strategy.

Due to the coming Council election period between 24 September and 26 October, further consultation will be delayed until later in the year and in early 2025; the draft strategy is likely to be released for further public consultation around March/April 2025.

Further project updates will be provided toward the end of 2024.

In the meantime, you can read more about the themes used for the first round of community feedback in our Bairnsdale 2050 Discussion Paper.

Theme 1 - Housing

Theme 2 - Places and Spaces

Theme 3 - Industry

Theme 4 - Shops and Businesses

Theme 5 - Movement and Access

Theme 6 - Sustainability and Climate Change

Theme 7 - Community Infrastructure

Community consultation

Community consultation in relation to the Discussion Paper closed on 22 April 2024. Feedback received will inform the draft strategy.

What happens next?

Council officers are collating and reviewing all feedback. A considerable amount of feedback has been received and this will take some time to go through.

To request a meeting or provide further feedback, please or contact the project team at strategicplanning@egipps.vic.gov.au

There will be more opportunities for involvement as Bairnsdale 2050 progresses!

Hardcopy documents are available on request at any of our Customer Service Centres.
