A map of East Gippsland Shire

Public toilets are essential facilities that support residents, visitors, and community events across East Gippsland. We’re reviewing these sites to ensure they are clean, safe, accessible, and meet community needs and expectations.

We want to hear your thoughts on the 114 Council-managed public toilet locations across our shire. These facilities are an important part of our public spaces, and your feedback will help us shape how we manage them now and into the future.

We’re seeking feedback on public toilets managed by Council to make sure they meet community needs. Facilities managed privately or by Committees of Management are not part of this first round of community consultation.

Whether you’re a resident or a visitor, your input matters. We want to understand what you think about Council-managed public toilets:

  • Cleanliness
  • Infrastructure condition
  • Accessibility
  • Safety
  • Location

This first round of feedback is open to 9 February 2026. Your feedback will guide future planning for public toilets and showers, including cleaning schedules and maintenance priorities. This is an important step in meeting community expectations and improving satisfaction.

Have your say on public toilets

To make it easy for you to share your thoughts, we’re offering several ways to get involved:

  • In person
Surveys and feedback can also be completed in-person at any of our customer service centres/libraries or emailed to feedback@egipps.vic.gov.au or mailed to PO Box 1618, Bairnsdale VIC 3875.

What’s next?
This work is part of our East Gippsland Public Amenities Service Review.

Once we’ve completed the first round of community consultation, we will be collating your feedback to help shape the draft East Gippsland Public Services Amenities Review. As part of this work, we will also be considering the broader provision/distribution of facilities owned or operated by private entities, other levels of government or Committees of Management.

When the draft service review document is ready in 2026, we’ll share it with the community and invite you to have your say again.

Stay involved, your feedback makes a difference!
