The Omeo Justice Precinct is a valuable asset for East Gippsland, its high country district and the town of Omeo itself. It presents a unique opportunity to capitalise on and commercialise Omeo’s heritage for the benefit of the community and the district economy.
The Omeo Justice Precinct Operations and Management Plan seeks to:
Ensure the successful on-going operation, maintenance, and development of the precinct.
Maximise access and visitation to the precinct.
Enhance and optimise the visitor experience at the precinct.
Link with and capitalise on the growth in visitation to Omeo anticipated through the development of significant new cycling infrastructure.
Next Steps:
Seek funding to undertake a Business Plan for the precinct that will drive funding and investment initiatives.
Establish a working group to lead a process to determine the future governance arrangement for the site.
