The Shaving Point boat ramp is now open!
There are a few minor items to be completed, however the boat ramp is now accessible and looks fantastic. Council is proud to deliver the upgrade of the Shaving Point boat ramp for this key boating community to enhance the overall user experience and encourage more boaters to visit the area.
The efficient design will help to ease congestion during peak boating seasons, minimise the environmental impact by preventing erosion and runoff, and improve safety and accessibility.
Funding was provided by Better Boating Victoria. Details of the opening celebration for this exciting project will be advised through YourSay, social media, and local newspapers.

Metung – Shaving Point Boat Ramp will be closed from 26 June and re-opening towards the end of September 2023.
For the safety of all users and contractors, access to the Shaving Point area will be restricted due to the use of construction related heavy earthmoving machinery. The closure of the boat ramp will ensure we complete the work as quickly as possible. The nearest alternative boat ramps are at Johnsonville and Lakes Entrance.
Visitors to the area are asked to observe the construction site signage and any directions from the contractor including following traffic management direction in the precinct during the works.
