This project is now complete
East Gippsland Shire Council are pleased to advise that this project is now complete.
Photos of the new facility are provided in the photos section.
Mallacoota's Lions Park Recreation Reserve is getting a new fit-for-purpose cricket training facility. The facility will comprise a synthetic turf practice pitch, which includes junior format markings, making it suitable for training, warm-ups and general public use by all age groups.
A retractable net system will provide flexibility at the multi-use site, reduce visual obstruction and improve on-field safety by reducing the likelihood of a collision with fixed infrastructure.
An open-practice area has been incorporated into the design to provide opportunity and a safe space for young children to play and practice.
Power will be provided at the site for a bowling machine with provision for future lighting.
The design of the facility complies with Cricket Australia's community facilities guidelines.
The funding secured for the design and construction of this facility is through a combination of Cricket Australia and Council.
