Project Update 10/05/2023

Works on the new Mallacoota cricket nets are now complete.

The synthetic wicket, fencing, and soft netting, are now complete, and the contractor has installed a 240v power service for the club’s bowling machine.

The new cricket nets will be handed over to the Cricket Club once seed is established.

The aim of this project was to design and construct a new ‘fit for purpose’ cricket training facility at the Mallacoota Lions Park Recreation Reserve. The new facility is comprised of a synthetic turf practice pitch which includes junior format markings making it suitable for training, warm-ups, and general public use (all age groups).

A retractable net system will provide flexibility at the multi-use site, reduce visual obstruction, and improve on-field safety by reducing the likelihood of collisions with fixed infrastructure. An open-practice area has been incorporated into the design to provide the opportunity for young children to play and practice.

The design of the facility complies with Cricket Australia Community Facilities Guidelines.
