Why is council undertaking this project?

    Council is undertaking this project to address aging and inadequate lighting infrastructure as outlined in the East Gippsland Sporting Facilities Plan and the municipal wide sports lighting assessments.

    Who is funding the project?

    Funding for this project is provided by Sport and Recreation Victoria through the 2022/23 Country Football and Netball Program, and contributions from Lindenow South football/netball club, and the Lindenow South Recreation Reserve Committee of Management.

    What is currently funded?

    Funding provided to the project will see the installation of four 25m-tall fixed lighting towers on the Lindenow South Recreation Reserve Oval, with LED globes [illumination of 100LUX] to meet the AFL Victoria preferred facilities guidelines.

    When will construction commence?

    Construction will commence once detailed design documentation is finalised and approved by East Gippsland Shire Council and the committee of Management

    Construction will likely take place in the 23/24 financial year.
