Each year, we assess the condition of our roads and select those that require improvement. Roads are nominated when ongoing maintenance is no longer viable, when they pose safety risks to the community, or when they no longer meet urban road standards.

Funding has been allocated to design upgraded road infrastructure and accessible pedestrian pathways along Roadknight Street in Lakes Entrance to improve user safety and experience between Myer Street and Palmers Road.

Objective and scope

The project encompasses the design of upgraded road and drainage infrastructure and pedestrian pathways to better serve the community.

  • Install new kerb and channel
  • Upgrade underground drainage
  • Renew footpaths and shared/bicycle paths
  • Improve road pavement to meet current standards
  • Formalise carriageways and street intersections
  • Enhance pedestrian and cyclist safety

Investigation and concept design are scheduled during financial year 2024-25 to facilitate future funding and planning arrangements.

This project does not include street lighting, off-street carparking, landscaping, crossovers and driveway construction, and drainage work on private property.

  • Survey - Roadknight Street concept design

    We invite your feedback on the proposed upgrades to road infrastructure and pedestrian pathways along Roadknight Street in Lakes Entrance, designed to better meet community needs.

    Your feedback is important and will help us to understand how this section of road is used and how we can improve safety, accessibility, and infrastructure for everyone.

    This survey is anticipated to take around 5–10 minutes to complete. Your responses will directly inform the detailed design phase of the project.

    COLLECTION NOTICE — East Gippsland Shire Council collects your information to seek feedback on the concept design for road and drainage infrastructure upgrades for Roadknight Street in Lakes Entrance – between Myer Street and Palmers Road. The information you provide will be used to inform the development of detailed design for this section of Roadknight street. This survey allows you to submit your feedback anonymously however, if you choose to include any personal information it may be possible to identify you. Please note your feedback will be visible to Council staff, including the Project Supervisor and external contractors for the specific purpose of developing the detailed design for this project. Words provided in your feedback will not be used or repeated in any public communications or reporting. This survey includes general questions about the participant (i.e. location and age bracket) to give an indication of the audience reached. The personal information provided will only be used for the purpose for which it was intended and will not be disclosed to other people or organisations without your prior written consent, or where it is required by law.
