Wests Road Murrangower is a very low-traffic road with a single timber bridge located half was along the road. The bridge was in extremely poor condition and required replacement. Council Officers identified an opportunity to utilise second-hand bridge components from Jarvis Norwood. This allowed for a financial saving of 70% in comparison to the installation of a bridge constructed of new materials. The bridge meets all current standards and will provide improved access during natural disasters. The construction of concrete bridges will also see cost savings in maintenance and inspection.
