The redevelopment of the Cann River Skatepark was completed in February 2024.

The Cann River Skate Park redevelopment will see the aged and rusting facility replaced with a new and challenging skate park redesigned with input from local youth.

The current skate park at Cann River is the only formal recreational and sporting facility in the area of the Cann River township and as such, is particularly important for the wellbeing of young people.

The proposed outcome of the Cann River skate park redevelopment is:

  • to replace the existing, outdated skate park with a new, attractive, challenging and safe skate park that complements and supports the wider use of Mick Baum Park
  • to assist in the mental, social and physical wellbeing of the community, particularly to younger individuals, following the ongoing recovery of the Cann Valley community from bushfires and the additional impact of the COVID19 pandemic
  • to ensure the skate park is more attractive to visitors which is an important part of the Cann River economy.

This project is funded by the Australian Government through the Black Summer Bushfire Recovery Grants Program.
