Black Spot funded road safety improvements on Bogong High Plains Road in Bundara were completed in June 2024.  

About the Project: 

This project has been identified due to a number of serious injuries and one fatality, with the majority of accidents involving motorcycles. Black Spot program funding has been sought to treat sections of the road and winding corners with guard rail.

Project Scope: 

The scope of works are to include sections of guard rail either side of a hair pin corner. The treatment area is a 2.8-kilometre section of the road. This rail is to include motorcycle rub rail, dragons teeth line-marking to four corners leading up to the site. Audio tactile centreline, updating of delineation signs, guideposts and refreshing of line-marking

This project has been funded through Federal Government Black Spot Program 2022/2023

    Preliminary design drawings have been received by EGSC and an external Road Safety Audit is being undertaken as part of the works.

    Construction of proposed works will be delayed due to road closure over the winter months. Further updates will be provided in the future.
