- The northern seawall is nearing completion.
- Construction of the new carpark is underway, helping to improve access and convenience for all visitors.
The new seawall and carpark have been designed in a way that allows flood water to overflow into the carpark during flood related lake level rises and then dissipate more quickly through an improved carpark drainage system. This design approach aims to ensure that upgrade works donβt transfer flooding from the public carpark into surrounding areas such as roads & private property.
The new seawall doesn't impact McMillan Strait flows as it is located outside the main channel and tidal flows. The revised documents are available in the documents section on this page:
Behind the scenes, the redesigned boat ramp is being prefabricated, and work on the floating pontoon jetties are progressing well. These upgrades will make launching and docking safer and easier for everyone.
On the ground, crews are busy installing service conduits, kerbing, and drainage, laying the foundation for a more functional and welcoming space.
