Paynesville - Gippsland Lakes Shared Community Hub
This project was first identified in the development of strategic plans for Paynesville including the Paynesville Town Centre Structure Plan and the Paynesville Foreshore Management Plan 2017.
Why is council undertaking this project?
This project will support Bruthen’s transition from a timber-town to a tourism hub and important gateway to far-east Gippsland and beyond.
Project Update - 13 September 2023
Work at the Shaving Point boat ramp is progressing well, with all of the ramp panels now installed.The fixed jetty is well underway with the sheet piles completed.
The concept plan shows a potential bridge. Will this impact access to Mariner's Cove ?
Some members of the community have expressed an interest in providing a crossing over the canal so that pedestrians can walk north along the foreshore from the Paynesville township to the Slip Road site and up to Gippsland Ports.
