East Gippsland Shire Council manages more than 3,000 kilometres of roads.
Council is currently developing a weed and pest Control Plan for 2023-2026 as part of the Victorian Government’s Roadside Weeds and Pests Program (RWPP). Funding provided through the RWPP program helps identify which Catchment and Land Protection (CaLP) Act 1994 listed species will be managed over the term of the plan.

Consultation and community engagement
An important part in the development of the Control Plan is seeking input from the community.
Council’s Environment Team are after input in relation to the following areas:
priority weeds (only species listed under the CaLP Act)
any community-led weed and pest control activities that are currently being undertaken, or plan to be undertaken, within the timeframe of The Plan

Funding of $78,734 has been provided as part of the Victorian Government’s Roadside Weeds and Pests Program (RWPP).
