FAQs
How are the roads selected for the program?
Roads to be resealed are nominated through a seal condition survey process which occurs at four yearly intervals (as required under the Local Government Act).
There are a number of attributes assessed in the survey, with each road given a score of condition. From the combination of these scores, the roads which score highest are included to the Reseal Program. Once the Reseal Program is drafted, Council Works Supervisors are supplied with the list to undertake preparation works prior to sealing. Finally, Council’s road sealing contractor undertakes sealing between December to 31 March.
When will the road reseal commence?
Council’s road sealing contractor undertakes sealing between December to 31 March.
Is Council paying for the Road Reseal Program?
Funding for the 2023-2024 Road Reseal Program is predominately funded by Council cash, with some roads selected to be part of the Federal Government Roads to Recovery Program.
