What is a Project Reference Group?

    The Project Reference Group (PRG) is a representative section of the most significant community interest groups/individuals. The group is assembled on a voluntary basis to facilitate community involvement in identifying problems and evaluating solutions and to support and co-operate with all parties in the spirit of goodwill and working towards the common purpose.

    The PRG provides a representative viewpoint on the design options and is included in communications of detailed design. Reference Group members contribute their knowledge about issues that are relevant to the project and provide representation for a variety of stakeholder interests.

    Specifically, the PRG will:

    • Provide input, advice and recommendations to the Project Control Group;
    • Review and comment on draft project documents;
    • Ensure that the views and interests of their organisation/interest group and the community are represented, and that relevant stakeholders are engaged;
    • Provide an active and positive contribution to the project;
    • Champion the project within the community;

    Help achieve community participation.

    What is a concept design?

    A concept design is an early-stage visual and strategic representation of a proposed project. It outlines stakeholder key ideas, layout, grant key indicators and features to help stakeholders understand the overall vision.

    Will the final project look different from the concept design?

    The final design of a project may vary from the initial concept design for several reasons. Some common reasons include technical constraints, statutory standard requirements, geological conditions, regulatory requirements, budgetary considerations, stakeholder feedback, and evolving needs and preferences. Adapting plans to changing circumstances ensures the final product remains relevant and functional.

    We will notify you of any significant changes and explain the reasons behind them.

    We appreciate your understanding that the final design may differ from the concept. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to ask.
