This project is now complete.
The Nowa Nowa Streetscape road upgrade, comprising a 300-metre section of Princes Highway that runs through the centre of town, will greatly improve the standard of road infrastructure.
The project aims to:
Improve the standard of road infrastructure
Improve vehicle and pedestrian safety
Improve amenity
Improve access
The reconstruction will include road, kerb and channel, drainage and adjacent path connections and landscape work, improving the layout of an existing T-intersection is to improve safety and accessibility for this busy road.
The type of work being undertaken will include:
Kerb and channel replacement works
The reconstruction of one road intersection, currently a T-intersection
Road widening in multiple locations including new road pavement, drainage and kerb and channel, including the provision of an additional 10 on-street parking spaces.
Asphalt resurfacing
Installation of raised asphalt platforms at key locations to control traffic speed.
Installation of paths and pedestrian crossings in areas immediately adjacent to road works.
Renewal of road signage

All works are now complete following the construction of the bus shelter and asphalt surfacing in front of the Mingling Waters Caravan Park, improving both pedestrian and vehicle safety.

Replacement of the existing pavement has commenced, beginning in front of Mingling Waters.
A new bus shelter has been installed, plus a new directional sign. Construction of new kerb and channel is well under way.

The Nowa Nowa Streetscape will commence after Easter 2023 using the services of the RRV Alliance contractor, Fulton Hogan.
The streetscape is within an RRV road reserve and this arrangement benefits all stakeholders.
