Natural Reserve Strategy

Shaping the future of East Gippsland’s natural reserves

Help guide how Council protects, manages and prioritises our bushland, wetlands and natural spaces over the next 10 years.

East Gippsland Shire Council is developing a Natural Reserves Management Strategy to guide how Council-managed natural reserves are cared for over the next decade.

These natural reserves protect important biodiversity, support cultural heritage, and provide places for recreation, connection to nature and community wellbeing.

Your feedback will help us understand what matters most about our natural reserves, how you use them, identify any issues, and explore opportunities for community partnerships in their management.

Community knowledge, experience and values are a vital part of this work. Your input will help ensure the strategy reflects what matters most to the people who use and care about these places.

Consultation and community engagement

You can get involved by:

• Completing the online survey
  Share your views on the values, use and future priorities for natural reserves.
• Attending a drop-in session
• Provide feedback on the interactive map

We will be hosting four drop-in sessions to provide an opportunity to chat about community priorities for the Natural Reserve Strategy.

If you're unable to attend a drop-in session, a Council staff member will be available on the following days to provide assistance and answer any questions.
