The redevelopment of the Metung Bowling Green was completed in December 2023.

This project is complete.

The handover of the Metung Bowling Green occurred in December 2023 and the Metung Bowls Club could not be happier with the outcome.

About the Project:

East Gippsland Shire Council together with the Metung Bowls Club have secured funding through Sport and Recreation Victoria – Local Community Sport and Recreation Projects for the upgrade of the artificial bowling green surface.

The works will include installation of a new competition standard synthetic surface to satisfy the current Bowls Australia Bowling Green Construction Guidelines.

The proposed outcome of the Metung Bowls Club Upgrade is to:

  • Resurface bowling green and subsurface works
  • to provide along lasting surface
  • There will be a significant increase in local, social bowlers created by the improvement in facilities
  • Increased capacity of the Club to host competitions becoming an attractive community bowls facility.

Budget:

This project has been primarily funded through Sports and Recreation Victoria with contributions from Metung Bowls Club and East Gippsland Shire Council.
