Project Complete
The Secret Beach Stairs in Mallacoota are now open to the public. Logistically this has proved to be one of the more challenging sites for reconstruction, led by local contractor Andy Harris and the dedicated team from A H Building Design.
Considerable improvements have been made to the track surface to ensure a safe, user friendly link between the carpark and Secret Beach, that is relatively maintenance free.
To all the local contractors and suppliers that have dedicated their time to the recovery effort along the Mallacoota Scenic Coastal Walk, we thank you. Your quality of workmanship and pride in restoring these important pieces of infrastructure for the broader community to enjoy have been very well received by all.

The Secret Beach Stairs in Mallacoota were destroyed during the 19/20 Summer Bushfires. The project to reconstruct them has been undertaken by local contractors and has been the final piece of asset infrastructure reconstruction along the Mallacoota Scenic Coastal Walk since the disaster.

The Secret Beach Rebuild Project is moving along, with the majority of the timber construction now complete, apart from the handrail installation.
The next step for the crew onsite is to get the cement treated crushed rock layer in, which is all done by hand. A huge effort by local contractor Andy Harris and his team. This has certainly proved to be a challenging site and we would like to remind locals and visitors that it remains an active worksite and access to ‘Secret Beach’ is unfortunately still temporarily unavailable and clearly marked as such. We appreciate everyone’s patience on this particular job and look forward to opening the site in the coming weeks.

The Secret Beach Reconstruction Project has had a lengthy delay due to material supply. Works will re-commence next week and take up to 3 weeks to complete. Unfortunately this delay has meant we are unable to open in time for the school holidays.
