Bairnsdale' s premier standard sporting facility will be upgraded to female friendly standards, including redevelopment of the change rooms, and the expansion and upgrade of Peppercorn Park. The proposed outcomes of this project is:
1. PEPPERCORN PARK OVAL UPGRADE
Additional drainage design including subsurface drainage
Irrigation design
Subsurface and surface remodelling including run off area
Installation of new goal posts and synthetic cricket pitch
2. CHANGEROOM UPGRADE
The redevelopment of the Bairnsdale City Oval change rooms will provide modern, fit for purpose, and most importantly fully female friendly change room facilities. Change room upgrades include:
Full redevelopment of the ablutions, replacing the group showers with 4 x lockable shower cubicles in both the home and visitor rooms.
Privacy screens at the entrance to the ablutions.
Installation of storage, seating, and bathroom amenities
Privacy screens at the entrance to both change rooms.
Expansion of the home change rooms, allowing the room to be divided if needed.
An independent coaches room
An independent trainer’s room
Budget
The total budget for the project is $978,500 – with contributions of $500,000 from the Victorian Government and $478,500 from Council.
