We are inviting applications from local landholders interested in receiving a free native vegetation management plan.
As a landholder, this will increase your understanding and capacity to enhance biodiversity on private freehold land. A native vegetation management plan will identify conservation and biodiversity values on a parcel of land, any threats to those values and actions the landholder can take to manage those threats.
We are offering native vegetation assessments for a limited number of privately owned properties.
This is a pilot project to support conservation outcomes on properties between 2 to 15 hectares.
Participants will receive a tailored native vegetation management plan. It will include guidance to help enhance understanding of:
local vegetation communities and protected species,
the ecological values on their property, and
land management skills for conservation, to improve the quality, extent or connectivity of native vegetation.
Background
The devastating Black Summer bushfires significantly impacted local ecosystems, and recovery efforts are still ongoing.
This initiative will support land managers improve their knowledge and capacity to care for native vegetation and enhance biodiversity to support healing of country, regardless of bushfire impact.
