Every year Council reviews the condition of our roads and nominates several roads to improve. Roads are identified when maintenance is no longer feasible, poses risks to the community's safety, or when the road no longer meets urban roads standards.

Funding has been allocated to design upgraded road infrastructure and accessible pedestrian pathways along Roadknight Street in Lakes Entrance to improve user safety and experience for everyone.

Objective and scope

The project encompasses the design for construction of improved road drainage systems including kerb and channel, stormwater pits, and pipes, a new accessible footpath, on-street parking, and the reconstruction of road pavement.

Investigation and design are scheduled during financial year 2024-25 to facilitate future funding and planning arrangements.

This project does not include street lighting, off-street carparking, landscaping, crossovers and driveway construction, and drainage work on private property.

Consultation and community engagement

A Project Reference Group (PRG) is required for this project and will include representation from local business owners and key stake holders. Two design consultation meetings are scheduled to be held during the concept design stage.
