Project Update 12/12/2022

  • Design for Lookout Road (Rotary Park) and Hotel Road link to Kalimna pub trailhead completed by Crossco and Lake Tyres Beach Design.
  • Nature Advisory completed a native vegetation assessment and reporting for Rotary Park.
  • Consultant engaged to prepare planning permit application for Rotary Park works.
  • Rotary Park Marine & Coastal Management Consent (MACA) application is with DELWP for assessment
  • Kalimna Loop Walk masterplan completed by Horizon Studios, with the trail broken into nine sections.
  • Select topographic survey and an audit of the nine sections has been completed enabling the preparation of the scope of works identifying maintenance, repairs, and upgrades required.
  • Three tenders covering eight of the nine sections of the Loop Walk works were released to public tender in November 2022.
  • MACA applications in progress for various sections of the Loop Walk (some sections require native vegetation assessment prior to MACA submission)

Jemmys Point Lookout Stage 2 and Loop Walking Trails are complete.

The completion of the Jemmys Point Stage 2 lookout and loop walking trail was celebrated on Wednesday 4 September 2024 at Rotary Park.

The new recreation facilities, loop walking trail and viewing platform in Lakes Entrance has provided several benefits to the community. 

These facilities now serve as a gathering place for the community, promoting social interactions and cohesion. Residents and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities, fostering a healthier lifestyle and enhancing well-being.
