Why is council undertaking this project?
With growing population, particularly in the junior years and primary school age Eastwood lacks a township scale playspace and outdoor community space. Located opposite Eastwood Village Shopping Centre and adjacent Lucknow Primary School will encourage community connectiveness and healthy activities within the parklands.
Will any trees be removed during construction?
There will be no impact on existing trees.
Is there both junior and senior play elements within the new playspace?
Junior and senior ages are accommodated within playspace.
Will the toilets have baby change facilities?
The toilets will be built to accommodate all abilities and will have baby change facilities.
Will the footy goals be relocated?
Yes, the footy goals will be relocated to an adjacent area.
Will the existing car park extended?
The car park will not be extended under this scope of works.
When will construction commence?
As we are in the community consultation phase for the concept plan the start date of construction has not been established.
Who will be doing the work?
The Council will do as much of the construction works ultilising Councils in house crews. Anything that cannot be done by Council will be tendered out to contractors.
