Help shape how East Gippsland prepares for emergencies

We’re looking for a passionate community member to join the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee and represent local voices in emergency planning.

East Gippsland Shire Council is seeking expressions of interest from community members to join the Municipal Emergency Management Planning Committee (MEMPC) as a Community Representative.

The MEMPC is the peak planning body for emergency management in East Gippsland, bringing together local agencies, emergency services and government to help communities prepare for, respond to, and recover from emergencies such as fire and flood.

As the Community Representative, you will play an important role in ensuring local knowledge, lived experience and community values are reflected in emergency management planning. This is a voluntary role with a two-year term, requiring attendance at quarterly meetings (with hybrid options available).

You don’t need a background in emergency management just a willingness to contribute, collaborate and represent the broader East Gippsland community.
