Why is Council undertaking this project?
This project seeks to revitalise Payne street for the benefit of community and businesses operating within this industrial area. Council is undertaking this road upgrade to improve its road and drainage infrastructure.
Council has allocated construction budget for FY 2024/25 to construct this much needed reconstruction work.
What happened to driveways and Commercial access?
Efforts will be made to minimise disruptions to driveway access. If damage occurs to the driveway due to the construction of drainage infrastructure or footpaths, it will be reconstructed to its original condition.
Commercial Access and Delivery points will be taken into consideration and will remain operational during construction.
Are the new Footpaths Disability Friendly?
The new footpaths on both sides will be disability accessible and Disability Discrimination Act 1992 compliant, which means it will be wheelchair friendly with DDA standard width and will include all accessible footpath access.
Is there any impact to off-street parking?
While every effort will be made to minimise disruptions to off-street parking availability, there will be some minor interruptions during construction with limited access those parking bays. Your cooperation and patience are appreciated while we work to achieve formalised parking that will benefit community.
Updates about the traffic management plan will be informed to directly impacted personnel in a timely manner.
What happens to my house drain connection?
Drainage work will be undertaken as part of this project and house drainage systems along kerbside can be connected to Council’s new drainage infrastructure.
Any work undertaken along private properties will not be done without property owner’s consent.
