Why is Council using Your Say?
East Gippsland Shire Council is keen to provide as many opportunities for the community to provide input and share ideas on projects, services and places.
Your Say is a new way for people to participate at any time of the day or night and in a number of different ways including filling in a Quick Poll, completing a Survey, participating in an online Forum, asking a Question or by simply checking Key Dates or FAQs.
Council will continue to consult with the community in a number of ways including face to face consultations, site meetings, community meetings, newspaper articles, letters, surveys as well as online with Your Say.
Do I have to Register?
You can view information on Your Say wiithout needing to register.
If you would like to answer a survey, participate in a forum or ask a question you will be asked to Register.
Council requires you to register so that we can provide you with feedback on your question. We will also keep you up to date with information once the consultation is finished. We may also contact you about other issues or projects that might interest or affect you.
If you have not previously participated simply click on the "Register" button on the right hand side of the page, when prompted create a SCREENNAME (Note: your comments will appear under your screenname and you can comment anonymously through a screenname of your choice) create a PASSWORD of your choice and provide a valid email address, your age, gender and the location in which you live.
If you have previously participated simply click on the "Sign In" function located on the right hand side of the top tool bar.
Is my privacy protected?
Your privacy is protected and Council and the site's host, Bang the Table, will only use your email to contact you with updates and to invite you to participate in consultations. Your email address will not be distributed to any third party or used for any others purpose.
How are forum comments moderated?
All moderation is carried out by Bang the Table and all moderation is independent of Council. The moderators do not edit or alter any comments and will only remove comments deemed to be significantly off topic, disrespectful to other participants, offensive or malicious, in which case they are removed from the site immediately.

What happens to my feedback / comments?
All comments, ideas and suggestions are collated and used by the relevant project officer to inform the development of projects, strategies, programs and services, or to gain insight into community views and opinions.
When each consultation closes, all feedback is compiled by the Project Manager. All feedback provided during the consultation will be considered, however this does not mean that every suggestion will be taken on board. Follow up information will be provided to keep you up to date on the decisions that have been made and where to go to find out any extra information you require.
