๐Ÿ“… July 2025

The construction contract was awarded to Brooker Builders P/L at the Tuesday 15 April Council meeting, marking the beginning of the next phase of project delivery.

In June 2025, the builder erected site fencing and began demolition of the existing Sarsfield Hall.

Whatโ€™s happening on site

  • Site set-out completed.
  • Board piers poured with hold-down bolts: these foundational elements form a strong base for the new community centre.
  • Structural steel erected
  • South end concrete poured
  • North end concrete mesh installation
  • Window and steel shop drawings submitted for approval: design details for key structural components are now under review.
  • Rain delay - unfortunately, recent wet weather caused a 4-day delay, preventing excavation of sewer trenches in the slab area. This delay will have no impact on the project plan.

Whatโ€™s next

With the site set-out complete and board piers poured, the next stage of construction is pre-slab works.

This phase will involve:

  • Final preparations for the concrete slab
  • Installation of in-ground services such as plumbing and electrical conduits
  • Ensuring the site is ready for slab pouring once weather conditions allow

These works are a key step in laying the foundation for the new multi-purpose community centre, and weโ€™re looking forward to seeing visible progress on site soon.

Weโ€™ll continue to keep you updated as the project moves forward.
