EPA issues Development License for Organic Composting Facility

On 21 January 2026, EPA issued the development licence under section 69(1)(a) of the Environment Protection Act 2017 (the Act), subject to conditions.

EPA considers a range of issues when assessing development licence applications, especially issues in submissions. The development activity is proposed to be undertaken in a way that meets environmental standards. All information and conditions relating to this licence are available on the EPA Public Register at epa.vic.gov.au. EPA will provide advice regarding its decision to submitters to the license application.

This approval represents a key milestone for the project as we work to reduce waste and emissions from landfill by advancing circular economy outcomes for community.

It is noted this permission does not take effect until a copy of a planning permit is provided to EPA. The determination of the planning permit is pending a Council decision.
