The next stage of the upgrade of the Paynesville Esplanade streetscape focusses on the area along the Esplanade between Langford Parade and Wellington Street.

This upgrade aims to build on the themes and character established in the first stage of the streetscape upgrade from Victoria Street to Fleischer Street.

In 2017 we asked Paynesville residents for feedback on the draft designs and the report on this feedback is available to view in the document library on this web page.

Works are due to commence Monday May 21, 2018 with anticipated completion toward the end of June 2018.

Works to include concrete paving, furniture, planting and an art component of fish tiles designed by Brendon Sims.

The draft Paynesville Esplanade streetscape design proposes to build upon the themes and character established in the first stage upgrade, which focussed on the area along the Esplanade adjacent to McMillan Strait.

We asked Paynesville residents for feedback on the draft designs, which are currently under review.

Following extensive consultation with Paynesville residents in 2012, the second stage of Esplanade streetscape improvements are now ready for community input.

The streetscape improvements build on the themes and character established in the first stage upgrade, which focussed on the area along the Esplanade adjacent to McMillian Strait.

Design for these works began some years ago with the development of a Structure Plan and Design Guidelines for the Paynesville town centre and then moved onto more detailed design for the first section of works. Extensive consultation with Paynesville residents and traders was carried out as part of this design work.

Now, with the assistance of a reference group made up of Paynesville business representatives and residents, the second stage of Esplanade streetscape concepts are now ready for community review and feedback.

The next stage of the Paynesville Esplanade streetscape upgrades will deliver numerous social and economic benefits to Paynesville and district. We encourage the community to have a look at the concept plans and provide their feedback.

The concept designs and a short survey are available at each of council’s Customer Service Centres, or on Your Say East Gippsland.

    Feedback closes 5pm, Monday 26 June 2017.
