Nowa Nowa Foreshore Master Plan - Your Feedback Invited

A small group of community members have worked with Council Officers to develop a draft master plan for the Nowa Nowa Foreshore. The draft master plan can be found here

This project proposes to upgrade the Nowa Nowa Foreshore Precinct with contemporary improvements to make it a destination for the local community and visitors.

Simple and generalised facility upgrades are a little more complicated due to the impact of sustained closures of the Lake Tyers Estuary which creates extended periods of inundation at the foreshore. Once the priorities are agreed upon and finalised, they will be tested in the flood model which has been developed for Nowa Nowa. If the priorities are determined to have little to no impact on surrounding properties the first planning requirement has been achieved.

It is critical to note that if any of the identified priorities in the master plan are deemed to have an impact on the surrounding landscape, it cannot be pursued.

We would like to invite the local Nowa Nowa Community and other interested community stakeholders to provide feedback to the draft master plan.
