Whelans is a reputable local company with many years of experience of rolling up their sleeves and getting the work done. Council is excited to be working with Whelans once again, following their recent completion of the Bullock Island Masterplan Implementation project.
The upgrade of Myer Street involves a range of infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving both functionality and safety, including the implementation of car parking solutions and the integration of road calming measures to ensure smoother traffic operations and pedestrian safety.
Footpath upgrades and the installation of raised pedestrian crossings are prioritised not only for safety but also to enhance the overall appeal of the surroundings.
Additional measures include improved safety protocols at intersections, upgraded drainage infrastructure for efficient flood management, and the formalisation of boat trailer parking areas.
- Large areas of raised road pavement will be introduced at the intersections of Laura Street and Carstairs Avenue to slow traffic movement along Marine Parade
- raised pedestrian crossings
Programming for construction will be advised following further conversations with the contractor. Works will be stage to minimise disruptions to the Primary School, local businesses, and visitors to the area during the works.
