Community workshop well attended

10 May 2018

Approximately 50 community members participated in the Community Workshop held in Lakes Entrance on Thursday 3 May 2018 to contribute to community information about what is important to people in Lakes Entrance.

The Lakes Entrance Growth and Adaptation Strategy is focused on ensuring that Lakes Entrance can grow into the future in a way that the community can relate to, understand and support. We are looking to the long term, but building on past work and work that is happening today as well so we are not starting from scratch.

We will be working to understand what is likely to drive change into the future and most importantly we are looking to first make sure that we understand what is important to community members, businesses and people visiting Lakes Entrance. This is critical to ensure that the way we plan for the future has these important things as a key focus.

The workshop was one of a number of different opportunities for community members to provide their insights and thoughts about what is valued and important to the community and functioning of the town.

The details of how you can get involved are included on this Your Say site and you can get involved in this part of the process through until the end of May.

At the end of the consultation period, and once all of the data has been collated, we will publish a report letting everyone know what we’ve found out.

Thanks very much to everyone who attended the workshop we really appreciate your input.
