Jetty Link Trail complete - walkers are welcome

The Jetty Link Trail component of the 6km Jemmys Point Loop Trails features stair structures connecting Hotel Road to the Kalimna Jetty. The stairs were showing signs of aging and were in dire need of replacement.

The upgrades to the switchback mineral earth trail with steps and stairs through native forest have been completed, enhancing the safety and comfort for those using the trail - yet another fabulous tourist attraction for the Lakes Entrance area.


The Jemmys Point Loop Trails project is divided into 9 sections -

1. Hotel Road being - currently under construction

2. Jetty link trail - complete

3. Kalimna Jetty walk - complete

4. Jemmy’s Point access trail - not started

5. Jetty walk access trail - complete

6. Princes highway to Seaview parade - not started

7. Seaview Parade to Point Road - not started

8. Point Street to Jemmy’s Point Reserve - complete

9. Jemmy’s Point Reserve to Lookout - not started


This project is jointly funded by East Gippsland Shire Council and the Federal Government.

Jemmys Point Loop Walking Trails and Lookout Stage 2 are complete.

The completion of the Jemmys Point Stage 2 lookout and loop walking trail was celebrated on Wednesday 4 September 2024 at Rotary Park.

The new recreation facilities, loop walking trail and viewing platform in Lakes Entrance has provided several benefits to the community. 

These facilities now serve as a gathering place for the community, promoting social interactions and cohesion. Residents and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities, fostering a healthier lifestyle and enhancing well-being.
