June 2026 Stage 2 update: The ‘missing link’ northern boardwalk
The next stage of Krauatungalung Walk, the ‘missing link’ boardwalk along the northern side of Cunninghame Arm, is now moving into delivery.
Stage 2, Section 4 will deliver a 400‑metre elevated boardwalk designed for all abilities. It will connect the existing foreshore pathway to the street network along Mackillops Lane, improving access for walkers, cyclists and people with access requirements.
This section is the first part of Stage 2 and an important step towards creating a safe, continuous pathway all the way to Eastern Beach.
The project also includes foreshore protection works to help reduce erosion and protect the coastline.

What's happening now
The contract for Stage 2, Section 4 has been awarded to Design Co Builders, a local East Gippsland contractor that successfully delivered Stage 1 of the Krauatungalung Walk.
Interpretive artwork and cultural connections
Council is progressing the design of interpretive artwork in partnership with Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation. This work will help reflect and celebrate the history, culture and ongoing connection of Traditional Owners to Country, ensuring these stories are respectfully recognised as part of the project.
Sand supply works on Bullock Island

Gippsland Ports will dredge sand from the Northern Arm
The sand will be transported to laydown area on the north side of Bullock Island
