Following a review of the feedback and survey results received during the community consultation in September, Council can share the final designs for the lookout on the Hotel Road site.
Based on the survey results there was overwhelming support for the use of timber as the screening material and this has been incorporated into the design.
Feedback received from the community on the height of the screen didn’t have a strong preference one way or another. Land Design Partnership (Council’s designers) have conducted additional modelling to show the perspective of the lookout from the roadway. This was done to ensure that the sense of arrival into Lakes Entrance was not negatively impacted. This was then presented to the Project Control Group, which consists of key stakeholders and community representatives.
Details of the when works will start at the Hotel Road site will be communicated in the near future.
The design work for stage two of the project (the Lookout Road site) is expected to commence early in 2020.
