Opening celebration Thursday 11th December @ 11am

Join us for the opening of the new Crooke Street Wetlands

East Gippsland Shire Council invites residents and the wider community to celebrate the opening of the new constructed wetland at Crooke Street, East Bairnsdale, at 11am on Thursday 11 December.

This exciting project transforms what was once an open drain full of weeds and rubbish, into a functional wetland designed to improve the health of our waterways and reduce waste and nutrients entering the Gippsland Lakes.

The upgraded site uses natural processes - vegetation, soil and controlled water flow - to filter stormwater before it reaches Jones Bay.
