Great news! Construction has kicked off!

The upgrade of the Hoddinott Reserve playground is in full swing, aiming to create a lively community area that combines fun and relaxation.

Progress is moving swiftly, with clearing and enhancements setting the stage for the new playground. Construction is actively taking place to provide a refreshed recreational space for everyone in the community.

This project, led by us and executed by the Gunaikurnai Land and Waters Aboriginal Corporation, will introduce a family-friendly playground featuring engaging equipment suitable for children aged 4 to 12. Families can also look forward to new seating options, making the reserve a more welcoming spot for play and relaxation.

The design has been shaped by community input, promoting active play and fostering social connections. Although we initially planned to keep some of the original play structures, they were deemed too worn out after evaluation. Consequently, we need to invest in all new playground equipment, focusing on what can be achieved within the available grant funding. Despite these changes, we are dedicated to creating a high-quality, enjoyable space for everyone.

Last week marked the start of work with the removal of outdated play structures. Crews are now focused on preparing the subgrade and installing drainage systems as the project progresses.
