Hoddinott Reserve playground has had a makeover!

Hoddinott Reserve playground in East Bairnsdale has been upgraded — and it’s looking better than ever!

This once-tired reserve has been transformed into a vibrant, welcoming space for families and kids to enjoy. With contemporary and interactive play equipment, new seating, and fresh landscaping, the reserve is now a hub for fun, relaxation, and community connection.

GLaWAC worked well to not only complete the playground upgrade but also freshen up surrounding public facilities in the area. Further landscaping developments and opportunities within the reserve are being investigated in collaboration with GLaWAC.

What’s new?

• A brand-new play space
• Structured play equipment under the existing shade structure
• A nature-based play area for imaginative adventures
• Picnic facilities and seating scattered throughout the reserve
• Updated shade sails and soft landscaping to keep things cool and green

This upgrade means more opportunities for play, exploration, and gathering - right in the heart of East Bairnsdale.

The playground is due to open to the public at midday on Friday 22 August 2025.
