We are working through the detailed design.
As we work through the design, we have made some amendments to the plan:
- The bus stop has been moved south and some of the median parking have been removed to achieve the appropriate line of sight for the crossings.
- The dedicated bicycle lane has been merged into a shared path at two of the corners to fit in with the existing power poles
What's happening now?
We’re working with East Gippsland Water and looking at the interaction between the new pavement and the old watermains.
We’ve completed a lighting assessment, and we are now working with Ausnet on designing an upgrade to the public lighting.
Ausnet will remove the cable stay on one of the power poles before construction commences.
What's next:
We’ll be back on site soon to check the accurate depth of some of the services.
We have determined that a complete reconstruction of the pavement is necessary, so we are already considering detour routes for the duration of the work. This will allow us to close the intersection while the pavement is being repaired.
We will reach out to residents and businesses as we get ready for the construction.
