The Bairnsdale Airport Runway Extension project is continuing through the environmental approvals process. Following public exhibition of the preliminary documentation, Council has now released the final documentation, including plans to protect and restore Gippsland Red Gum Grassy Woodland through a long-term environmental offset program. This work will help deliver important airport infrastructure improvements while supporting lasting environmental outcomes for East Gippsland.
