Council is asking farm owners, managers and share farmers to complete the survey, to enable Council to better understand the needs, concerns and aspirations of primary producers living in this region. It is modelled on, and built upon, the Wellington Shire Council Survey, conducted each four years as part of the partnership into supporting agriculture as recognized in the Looking Ahead Drought Preparedness Paper.

The answers will:

  • Increase Council’s understanding of issues impacting on the agriculture sector;

  • Assist in advocating to State and Federal Government, industry and other agencies about issues relating to agriculture in the region;

  • Inform business and investment opportunities of infrastructure and support services in the region; and

  • Ensure key agricultural issues are considered when developing policies or allocating resources.
